The tour will start early at 5am to catch sunrise at Angkor Wat temple and to visit other temples in the morning to avoid the heat and crowds.

After sunrise at Angkor Wat, you can take a coffee break in the temple park then visit Angkor Thom city and Bayon temple. At noon-time which is the hottest time of the day we will return to city for lunch break then have afternoon off at the hotel. At the evening (golden hour), when there are less people in the temple, we will go to visit Ta Prohm temple for a beautiful sunset.

 

With my 15 years of experience I know the flow of tourists and understand the best way to enjoy the temples and avoid too many tourists. This is why I have a different way of doing this unique tour to make it as memorable and culturally immersive as possible.

🕔 05:00 AM – Hotel Pick-Up & Sunrise at Angkor Wat

Early morning pick-up from your hotel and drive to Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world.

🏛 Morning Visit – Angkor Wat Temple

After sunrise, continue exploring Angkor Wat Temple in the cool morning air.
Walk through its galleries, bas-reliefs, and central towers while your guide explains the history, symbolism, and stories of the Khmer Empire.
Visiting in the morning helps avoid heat and large crowds.

 

☕ Coffee Break

Relax with a coffee break inside the Angkor park area, surrounded by ancient ruins and jungle scenery.

 

🗿 Angkor Thom City & Bayon Temple

Next, visit Angkor Thom, the last great capital of the Khmer Empire.
Explore:

• Bayon Temple – famous for its 216 smiling stone faces

• The impressive gates and ancient city layout

Your guide will share fascinating insights into Angkor Thom’s history and architecture.

 

🍽 Noon – Return to Siem Reap for Lunch & Rest

Return to the city for lunch at a local restaurant (own expense).
Enjoy free time and rest at hotel during the hottest part of the day.

 

🌿 Late Afternoon – Ta Prohm Temple

In the late afternoon, when temperatures are cooler and most tour groups have left, head back to the temples to visit Ta Prohm Temple.
Known as the “Tomb Raider Temple,” Ta Prohm is famous for giant tree roots growing over ancient stone walls, creating a mysterious and atmospheric setting — perfect for photography.

 

🚗 Evening – Tour Ends

After the visit, return to your hotel in Siem Reap.
